I eat on average per day 5 varied portions of Fruit, and lots of different Vegetables especially Onions (Which I could eat raw all day, if not for my wife complaining about my breath… ^_^) would you say I have the right idea? what sort of health benefits can I expect from eating this sort of diet?

Tons of vitamins, different fruits N veggies offer different ones. N you should already know, you need certain vitamins for different parts of your body.
BUT! You need proteins too. To help rebuild muscle N keep you going. That’s why vegetarians are a little slow… Unless they eat plenty of beans N nuts.
Well, for full benefits you need to eat different coloured fruit and veg. Red and Orange are full of vitamin c and antioxidants which prevent heart disease. Green and Yellow are just plain good for you! Blueberries are the best fruit you can eat because they contain so much antioxidantas.
Also, fruit and vegetables keeps your digestion system running smoothly.

Definitely but you need protein also and I think you would benefit from limiting your fruit and eating more green vegetables.

you would be getting good vitamins instead of toxins from processed foods. Yeah I know it sucks about the breath b/c it happens to me too but I keep sugar free gum or mints. Plus your gas smells bad too. I notice people who load their body with lots of processed foods gas and breath don’t smell as bad as people who eat healthier stuff.
You’ll get sick less frequent because vitamins are good for the immune system. Also, your hair will be shiney and your skin healthier.
