I need to work on changing my eating habits. I don’t eat enough fruits and I hardly eat vegetables each day and I’m wondering if drinking low sodium V8’s on a daily basis can make a difference. I know eating fruits and vegetables is the best way to go, but I’m wondering if I’m wasting my time and money on the V8’s.
Are there any nutritional experts out there can help me with this?!!
Thanks in advance…:-)

The fiber content of actual fruits and veggies makes you feel full, but if you’re not going to eat them, the V8 at least gives you some of the same nutritional elements.
However, as part of a plan to eat more wisely as a part of healthy nutrition, substituting V8 for the real thing is not the way to go. Instead, think hard about why you don’t eat fruits and veggies, and what you can do to increase your consumption to a high enough level that you don’t need to substitute the drink.
Maybe you need to buy better-quality fruit, or pre-prepared veggies in a sauce that’s not bad for you, or prepackaged salads.
Whole foods such as fruits and veggies are always better, because first of the fiber content, as already meantioned. But there are a few more benefits, such as feeling full faster, and with that preventing over-eating, as well as the chewing has been linked to being able to focus better on tasks. (There is a study about chewing gum relating to mental alertness in Germany – do not know the source).
But V 8 is great in cooking, or when you have no time! I keep it in the house!
Have a wonderful day!

The whole fresh fruit and vegetables are better for you. They continue more nutrients and a lot more fiber. But, it’s much better to drink a V-8 than not have enough vegetables.
